Volume 13-05
Greetings for the month of May! So far in my travels for the month
I've seen temperatures in the 70s, and I've seen 14" of snow. And the
two locations I experienced these extremes are only 30 minutes apart
in Rochester and Plainview, MN. Hopefully all the snow business is
behind us and we can all look forward to a nice remainder of Spring
and Summer ahead!
Speaking of things that are ahead, a solid month is in store for you
with our fourth annual Pint Size Polkas show at Cutler Park in
Waukesha for the culmination of their 4K program. Join us for some
Pizza, Polkas, and Preschool Art in the Park on Tuesday, May 21
starting at 5:30 PM. The Mike Schneider Band will also be returning to
the Essen Haus on May 24 and 25, plus an additional bonus date at
Pulaski Inn on May 29, replacing our usual date there in June due to
my summer travels. Thanks to Steve Meisner for making this switch, and
also to Tom Brusky for his help later on this summer! For details on
these dates, including some helpful Google maps, please visit the
Events page, and
the
Schedule page at
www.mikeschneiderband.com. I'll also
be doing some acoustic work with Ferd Buchel at Estabrook Park in
Milwaukee and a new beer garden park in Germantown, so if you're in
those areas on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening or a Sunday
afternoon, perhaps you'll see me there between my other commitments
and travels!
Last month I talked about next month, so I suppose this month I should
talk about July, right? After 14 days on the road doing multiple shows
per day, I have July 1 somehow completely off. Then the Fourth of July
week I spend closer to home, with shows in IL and WI, including four
at Summerfest plus the annual Fourth of July Parade in Waukesha. After
that week it gets a bit more hectic, with stops in IL, MO, TX, VA and
WI. In fact, I'll be leaving St. Charles, MO around 5:00 PM Tuesday,
July 9, and need to start north of Amarillo, TX, the next morning at
9:00 AM. That's the first of five programs I have that day, which I
haven't done since 2009 but am very much looking forward to! Thanks to
the library folks in St. Charles who moved my last show of the day
there up to help me get at least a few hours of sleep in between! The
next most hectic trip comes at the end of my tour of Texas on
Saturday, July 20, when I have that afternoon and evening plus all day
Sunday to get to Fairfax, VA. Luckily, I should even be able to manage
a round of golf somewhere along the way!
As always, be
sure to join our growing list of fans on Facebook

Between performances
this month I'll be preparing for the busy summer ahead. Can't wait to
get started! Until next month, enjoy the increasingly nice weather and
hope to see you at an event nearby soon. Happy Mother’s Day in the
meantime to my wife, my mom, my mother-in-law, and to all the moms out
there – enjoy your day this Sunday!
